Building links through blogs is an amazing way to stay in touch with your industry.  While you are looking for blogs that are related to your site, you can build relationships with blogger while building links to your site.  This is a great way to find out about other sites that are in your niche and possibly work together to build backlinks and build authority.  Sometimes authors of other blogs are not interested in that and will delete your comment right away.  I know I have deleted my share of comments from people that I think are trying to game my site for a link.
