If I could turn back time and change what happened that day exactly two years ago, I would do it. I still remember the sickening crunch of metal I heard and the bone-wrenching jolt I felt as our car, in the fog, hit the truck parked in the middle of the road. However, that feeling was nothing compared to what it was like to hear, from our hospital beds, that there had been a person in the road behind the car. I can’t imagine what it must have been like for the family to be contacting Funeral Homes when they should have been sending their parents on a long-awaited trip to Hawaii. I know the accident wasn’t our fault, but still I wish with all my heart that we hadn’t ventured out that day.
