Where to Find Jobs Machining Aircraft Parts
Business February 26th. 2010, 12:14pmI work for a machine shop in the Quality department. I have worked in different machine shops for over 20 years. I started out as an inspector and then moved into management for Quality. We have a lot of tooling for machining aircraft parts. While the parts are being machined we set up inspection points to be sure that all the parts are being machined to specification. All the tooling has to be inspected also so that they don’t miss a step in the machining process. If the tooling is incorrect then parts could get machined with the wrong dimensions or threads could be put in that are wrong.
